Summer Camp: Problem: Local Summer Camp had a 100% camper increase last year and wanted a review of their current marketing mix. They were unsure of additional marketing activities to achieve sustainable growth in a competitive industry. Solution: Review of current marketing mix, including: What is currently working? What is okay? What is failing? After analysis of the above questions, three key areas arose. The first being the failing of the staff referral program; the second, the lack of formal feedback from clients to gage overall satisfaction; the third being how to recruit younger kids to capitalize on the 85% camper retention rate. Developing a staff survey to better understand them and how they would improve the referral program, to in turn improve the value of the program. A camper evaluation was developed to be filled out by the family at the end of a camper’s session. Creative ways to capitalize on current sponsorship were used to recruit younger campers.
Result: Owner saw value in assessing and reviewing marketing mix. A fresh set of eyes allowed the owner to step back and see his marketing in a new light. The three areas highlighted were able amplify a currently strong marketing mix to assure sustainable growth.
Professional Training Center: Problem: A start up professional training company had no brand presence or awareness, and wanted to fill upcoming classes. The owner was ambitious with big plans but no marketing background to help make plans a reality. Solution: Being a start up company the biggest struggle is gaining credibility, and building brand presence. A marketing plan was created with a mix of activities to maximize the limited marketing budget. The plan focused on creating a brand and awareness for that brand, while also developing a custom client list for future campaigns. The plan also looked at forming strategic partnerships to cross sell and tap into already established networks. Result: Gained web presence, created a customer database. Know which organizations will need training, and when so they can be contacted before they start looking for training. Companies requested onsite custom training. Solid foundation was formed for future campaigns. |
